Manzhouguo: The True Story of a Short-lived, Ideal State in Manchuria
By HUANG WENXIONG,
Abstract
Abstract: ManzhouguoThis book is a Taiwanese critic’s radical refutation of the Chinese
government’s contention (and the prevailing perception) that Manzhouguo
was an illegitimate state contrived by imperialist Japan. Mr. Huang
Wenxiong opens his argument with a question: “How does one explain the
fact that each year, over one million Chinese flooded into Manzhouguo - a
place that the Japanese colonized and proceeded to brutally exploit?” Then,
citing abundant factual information, the author proceeds to present the true
picture of Manzhouguo: a last hope and a refuge for the Chinese.
